What are expired domain names?
If the owner of a domain name neglects to renew their registration, the domain enters the marketplace again. Every day thousands of domains become available (are deleted from records). The trick is to find only the valuable ones from the long list. Using expired-domain.bemmu.com you can use information such as wikipedia mentions and google trends data to find the hidden treasures.
Please see Mike Davidson's article How to Snatch an Expiring Domain Name for more information on how the expiration process works.
I would like to register one of the domains you listed, how do I do it?
Go to
pool.com, create an account, click on the "deleting domains" tab and input the domain in the "Enter domain to backorder:"-field on the left. Pool will then attempt to register the domain once it becomes available and you will get an e-mail notification if the registration was successful. You will not have to pay anything unless the registration is successful.
What is "regexp search"?
Regular expressions are a powerful way to search for strings, but have a
slightly complicated syntax. You can use the search box in a normal way
if you are unfamiliar with them. For example if you want to search for
domain names which contain the word "cat", you can just type "cat" into
the search box and hit OK.
Why do most domains have "unknown" in the Google Trends field?
There are thousands of domains in the deleting domains list, so all cannot
be checked without pounding Google's servers, risking a ban. I have chosen
to prioritize checking the most likely domains for Google Trends data first.
New data is checked each hour, so come back later for more.
How are you able to know when a domain deletes?
The time indicated is the time when the domain drop process starts. It may actually take a few hours longer than indicated for the domains to become available. If you register using Pool then they will take care of monitoring the deleted status for you and will register it immediately when it becomes available.
